2023 Virtual Show
Suggestions for Biography/Storytelling—Visitors to our 2020 virtual show commented that they loved reading artist biographies and watching artist videos. These features add a level of depth and engagement that enrich the experience of our visitors. Here are some tips for writing your biography/story.
Introduction—Tell us who you are; where do you live? How long have you been hooking and a member of the GMRHG? Are you a Board member?
Other suggestions include:
What what was your spark to take up hooking?
What/who inspires you as an artist?
How do you use storytelling in your work? Does this rug have a story?
How do you push yourself to grow as an artist?
Anything else that you would like our viewers/attendees to know? Think about extra details that you enjoy reading in other artist’s biographies and include those details.
It is possible to include interesting details without your biography/story becoming too long. Our editing team has your back with grammar and punctuation, so be your authentic self and let your story out!

We are not necessarily looking for long video stories, one to two minutes. If you go longer (or shorter) than that…no worries! If you are being videotaped or videotaping yourself, it is okay to make mistakes…pause…start over. I can edit all of that out.
