Thursday workshop with Kathy Giroux
3D Needle Felting Workshop
with Kathy Giroux
Thursday Oct 8, 2020 $125
Learn to needle felt a 3 dimensional figure or image. We will start with learning the ancient art of turning sheep’s wool into felt. I will familiarize you with the various needles one can use and when and how to use them. We will also discuss the proper wool to use and how to manipulate it into a recognizable image. Come with an idea of something you want to create that you can then add to a wall hanging or rug. I hope my love of this art can help guide and inspire you.
Material costs are $20 and should be paid directly to the instructor.
Kathy Giroux is part of the wonderful cooperative fiber arts group called Mountain Fiber Folk Cooperative located in Montgomery Center, Vermont (http://www.mtfiberfolk.com/). She has had a life-long fascination with fiber arts and is thrilled to be actively creating felted works. She has spoken to the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild at a spring meeting about her work and is excited to teach us in more detail how to add her techniques to our hooked work.
