Learn to Hook Rugs

With Diane Burgess
Saturday and Sunday, October 10, 11  (one and one half days)
$125

Learn the basics of traditional rug hooking while creating a small project.  The focus of this one day workshop will be technique (hands on hooking and lots of it). We will be using a primitive #8 cut (1/4” strips of wool). A practice kit is provided which includes a primitive size hook, backing and transfer material.  I will have some simple patterns you can use along with some free wool.  You will learn the types of rug designs, techniques, color choices, wool quantity, cuts of wool, backings, finishing techniques, as well as tools and materials that are available.  Additional wool will be available for purchase during the workshop.  I will have rug frames, scissors and cutters you can use during class.  All of these supplies will be available for purchase at the vendors during the rug show. If you already have any of these items and/or a simple design in mind, please feel free to bring them to this workshop.
