Richmond, VT Rug Hookers
This weekly gathering of friends who share the passion for rug hooking has been happening since the 1980’s. Sometimes more than 20 people show up, sometimes just a few (summertime is not as well-attended).
Every Tuesday, 10 am to 2 pm, with a potluck at noon, at the church hall of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church
Place: Church Hall (brick building in back by parking lot) of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 64 West Main St, Richmond, Vermont
Tuesdays. Every Tuesday. Even if it snows. Even if it was just a holiday, or it’s the eve of a holiday. BUT, check with person in charge because once in a great while a church event intrudes.
10 am sharp! Usually until 1 pm or 2 pm. Occasionally until 3 pm if someone needs extra time.
We collect $2 or $3 per week per person, which goes to the church. The church charges us $15/week.
We have a potluck lunch (no guarantee that it’s healthy!), but you are welcome to grab a plate and eat even if you don’t bring something to share. There’s often too much food. You can bring your own lunch if you’d prefer to do that. nnWe provide hot water, a variety of teas, instant coffee.
Rug Hooking is the main activity, but other fiber arts are welcome. We try to avoid political and religious discussion, at least until later in the day.
Some people occasionally will wear a mask if they will-be-or-have-been-traveling or feel they might get or share germs.
