Lift Every Voice Rug Show

Elizabeth Catlett was an African American sculptor and graphic artist best known for her depictions of the Black-American experience in the 20th century, which often focused on the female experience.
A group of rug hookers have used her work to hook 15 rugs from a series of Elizabeth Catlett’s work. The rugs are on tour in a show called Lift Every Voice, and will be at the Rokeby Museum, in Ferrisburg, Vermont, this spring.
The opening of the season at the Rokeby Museum is on May 13th. This is Mother’s Day weekend and Saturday is FREE for all who attend.
At 2 pm on Saturday Maddy Fraioli will be giving a short presentation and introduction to the exhibit. She is hoping that some of the other contributors will be joining her, but will know better as it gets closer.
